The basics
What exactly is Risly?
Risly is an anti-snooze alarm clock for iPhone. Its alarms can only be silenced by completing a wake-up mission — scanning an object, solving math, shaking the phone or doing push-ups. There is no snooze button.
How is Risly different from a normal alarm app?
Three things: there is no snooze button, dismissing requires completing a physical or mental mission, and alarms are built on Apple's AlarmKit so they ring through silent mode and Focus. A standard alarm asks you to wake up; Risly checks that you did.
How is Risly different from Alarmy and other mission alarm apps?
Same family, different backbone. Risly is built natively on AlarmKit, Apple's system alarm framework from iOS 26, so alarms fire like the built-in Clock app — through silent mode, Focus, and even a force-quit — instead of relying on notification tricks. Add a focused mission set, streaks with Sun-Ninja grades, 18 languages, and no ads inside.
Is Risly a good alarm for heavy sleepers?
That's exactly who it's built for. Risly is a loud alarm clock for heavy sleepers: it rings at full volume through silent mode and Focus, there is no snooze button, and the only way to stop it is a mission that gets your body or brain moving. If you can sleep through that, we'd like to study you.
Which iPhones are supported?
Risly requires iOS 26 or later. That's what makes the unstoppable alarm possible.
Why iOS 26 only? What about Android?
The unstoppable alarm relies on AlarmKit, which Apple introduced in iOS 26 — older versions simply can't guarantee the alarm fires. Android isn't supported for now.
Which languages does Risly speak?
18 languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Danish, Swedish, Polish, Russian, Turkish, Arabic, Hindi, Thai, Japanese, Korean and Chinese.
Alarm & reliability
What happens if my phone is on silent or in Do Not Disturb?
The alarm rings anyway, at full volume. Risly uses AlarmKit, Apple's system-level alarm framework introduced with iOS 26, which is designed to break through silent mode, Focus and Do Not Disturb.
Does it work in silent mode or Focus?
Yes. Risly is built on Apple's AlarmKit, so alarms break through Focus, Do Not Disturb and the silent switch — reliably, at full volume.
Can I just force-quit the app to stop the alarm?
No. Because alarms are scheduled at the system level, force-quitting Risly doesn't stop the alarm. The mission remains the only exit.
Does Risly drain the battery overnight?
No. Alarms are scheduled with the system, so Risly doesn't need to run in the background all night.
Missions
What if I really need to sleep in?
Disable the alarm the night before — you're in control before it rings. Once it rings, the mission is the only way out. That's the point.
What if the mission fails — camera broken, can't do push-ups today?
Every mission has an accessible fallback so you're never trapped: for example, a camera mission can fall back to math. The fallback is deliberately not easier than getting up.
Can I use Risly for naps or irregular schedules?
Yes. Alarms can be one-off or recurring per weekday, so shift workers and nappers can build their own patterns.
